I am Sharon Waller, and I'm running for Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) in the Democratic primary in Cook County IL.
If elected, I'll be the first-ever water engineer on the board.
I'm a licensed Environmental Engineer with 30-years experience & a PhD in water.

We in the Great Lakes Region have an awesome responsibility to manage and protect our most precious international asset - our fresh water.
Yet we still discharge raw sewage into our rivers and drinking water supply.
We need to reduce phosphorus leaving our state by 25% by 2025 to decrease our contribution to the Gulf of Mexico Dead Zone.
This is an opportunity for innovation before taxation to grow our Blue Economy by increasing climate resilience for our industry and decreasing pollution discharged to our environment through combined sewer overflows (CSOs) that flow into our water supply and down to the Gulf of Mexico.
Technology exists, but water policy is needed for implementation.
Climate change is real, and science has become political.
We owe it to the next generation to tackle these big issues to leave this place better than we found it.
That’s why I’m running for MWRD in the June primary election.
Waller 4 Water is a great ballot name.
